Autumn Leaves

Throughout much of North America, trees are getting ready to shed their leaves. In some areas, these solar collectors will turn brilliant yellows, reds, and oranges before fluttering to the ground—giving us plenty to rake up. Why do some leaves change color in their final days while others just turn a mousy brown before drying to a crisp?
